OnePlus 5, OnePlus 5T updated to Oxygen OS 5.1.2


OnePlus is rolling out an update for both the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5Tsmartphones. Both devices are being updated to Oxygen OS 5.1.2. The update brings in a host of fixes, and stability upgrades.


The update is 1.6GB in size, and you should have a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting the update process. OnePlus says that this OTA update is being rolled out in phases, so in case you haven t received a notification, you should soon. OxygenOS 5.1.2 update brings in May Security update to the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. It also fixes auto-rotation stability issue. The Gallery app gets a map view to see photos by location, and a new collection to see the Recently Deleted photos. In case you have been facing issues with connecting to Wi-Fi networks, this update fixes it. You can now double-tap to lock screen, and the update also fixes an issue with the mic not working on certain AKG earphones.
Lately, OnePlus has been quite busy rolling out software updates for its smartphones. Earlier this week, the company rolled out OxygenOS 5.1.5 for the new OnePlus 6smartphone. The update brought in a host of fixes and stability upgrades in addition to seamless update support.
Seamless Android updates is essentially a new process developed by Google for updating a smartphone while reducing interruptions for the user. This is also known as A/B system updates where the smartphone maker has to add two system partitions in a smartphone so that users can always have a bootable system to access.
